The Software as an Educational Resource

Software Is a general term for the various kinds of programs used to operate computers and related devices.
Microsoft Windows Also referred to as a program, Microsoft Windows or Windows for short is an operating between the user and the computer operating system.
    • User Convenience• A new look• Information center• Plug and play
Instructional SoftwareInstructional Software can be visited on the Internet or can be bought from software shops and dealers. The teacher through his school should decide on the computer-based instructional (CBI) materials for the school resource collection.
In evaluating computer-based educational materials, the following can serve as guidelines: • Be extremely cautions in using CBI's and ‘free’ Internet materials • Don’t be caught up by attractive graphics, sounds, animation, pictures, video clips and music forgetting their instructional worth • Teachers must evaluate these resources using sound pedagogical principles • Among design and content elements to evaluate are: the text legibility, effective use of color schemes, attractive layout and design, and easy navigation from section to section
     • Clarity in the explanations and illustrations of concepts and principles• Accuracy, coherence, logic of information• Their being current since data/statistics continually change• Relevance/effectiveness in attaining learning objectives• Absence of biased material.
The software serves as an educational resource  because as we all know that in our generation we are more on technology. And because of the software it can develop their creativity for example when they are having a report, they don't need to write all the information in the cartolina or in the manila paper instead they will use Microsoft presentation to discuss their lesson.

Computer as Information and Communication Technology

Introduction Through computer technology: Educators saw the amplification of learning along computer literacy. Much like reading, the modern student can now interact with computer messages; even respond to questions or to computer commands. Like writing, the learner can form messages using computer language or program.
Soon computer-assisted instructed(CAI) was introduced using the principle of individualized learning through a positive climate that includes realism and appeal with drill exercises that uses color, music and animation.
But the evolving pace of innovation in today’s Information Age is so dynamic that within the first decade of the 21st century, computer technology in education has matured to transform into an educative information and communication technology (ICT) in education.
The Rise of Personal Computer (PC)? With a computer in the classroom, teachers are able to: Demonstrate a new lesson, present new material, Illustrate how to use new programs, Show new websites .
Educational Instructional media communication media consist of audio-visual comprise the media of aids communication. Examples are the using the print, film, radio blackboard, photo, film television or satellite and video.

Computer has a lots of uses and helps for the students, it serves as an information tool and communication technology.Through computer, we can easily make our schoolwork like assignments. We can also communicate through it. It also helps the teacher to demonstrate a new lesson for the student. But it has a dis advantage for the student because, based on what I observed in them they will go to the computer shop not because they will their make their assignment but because they will play a computer games most especially during school hours. So that as a future educator I wont tolerate this act of my students.

      The Internet and Education

The Internet has become an increasingly important feature of the learning environment for teenagers. Research by the Pew Internet and American Life Project Shows that teens use the Internet as an essential study aid outside the classroom and that the Internet increasingly has a place inside the classroom.

We all know that we are using internet for school research or schoolwork and instant messaging to contact teachers or classmates about the schoolwork.

I do believe that the internet helps us to learn and discover new things, it has been the good thing for us. But it has been a bad thing also because it teaches students to be lazy in terms of doing assignments or projects because they will just copy and paste all the information they get without reading it. But it is essential for today generation because they will learn how to use the internet in order to be successful.
